EFFINGHAM HEALTH SYSTEM TO PARTNER WITH PROJECT SEARCH
Effingham Health System is proud to be a key partner with Project SEARCH, which aligns business, education and vocational rehabilitation. The goal of Project SEARCH is to provide on-site internship experience for youth with disabilities, leading to competitive employment.
Effingham Health System provides a classroom for instruction, as well as a variety of internships that teach core skills needed to successfully function in a professional environment. Additionally, mentors support the interns through a liaison assigned to coordinate the program.
The Board of Education provides an instructor and recruits appropriate student participants through both Effingham County High School and South Effingham High School.
The Vocational Rehabilitation Office provides individualized career counseling and guidance for eligible student participants. Vocational planning and support may include job coaching and competitive job placement in the community.
The Georgia Council for Developmental Disabilities provides long term retention and follow along for eligible individuals who receive a competitive job at the host business or in the community.
Please join us in supporting this exciting partnership for our youth.
