Effingham Health System’s Care Center has received five stars, the highest Overall quality rating, from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily. The ratings are made available through Medicare’s Nursing Home Compare website: www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare.
According to Fran Baker-Witt, Interim Chief Executive Officer for Effingham Health System, “Our Care Center is consistently exceeding performance expectations.” In an email to staff, Ms. Baker-Witt acknowledged the outstanding and unswerving quality delivered by the Care Center team.
Most recently the Care Center received the “2016 Excellence in Action Award” from the National Research Corporation for overall workforce satisfaction levels that fall within the top 10% of qualifying organizations, based on the national database.
In 2015 Effingham’s Care Center was awarded the American Health Care Association (AHCA) Gold Quality Award based on the Malcolm Baldrige Award criteria. The facility has also achieved a deficiency-free survey from Georgia Department of Community Health, for two consecutive years: 2015 and 2016.
