Record-Setting Soul to Sole 5K Raises Breast Cancer Awareness and Funds for EHS Foundation

The second annual Soul to Sole Breast Cancer Walk & 5K saw a record-breaking turnout, with over 300 participants coming together to support the cause. Decked out in pink, the crowd of women, men, and children stretched for more than a block. During the event the group took time to recognize those in the Effingham community who have dealt with breast cancer. Many participants wore “Survivor” t-shirts, while others honored loved ones who had lost their battle with breast cancer, or simply came to show solidarity for this crucial cause that affects so many lives.

Funds raised will benefit the Effingham Health System Foundation’s Capital Campaign, which is focused on expanding the Effingham Cancer Care Center to better serve the needs of the rapidly growing community.
